Adair-Guthrie Prepares created as health care coalition

GREENFIELD — Beginning fiscal year 2013, the Centers for Disease Control preparedness grants made available to hospitals and county public health agencies through the Iowa Department of Public Health became a competitive grant for the first time. Instead of allocating an amount to each entity individually, only a formalized “health-care coalition” was able to apply for funds. Adair-Guthrie Prepares coalition applied for a hospital and public health preparedness grant in July and was notified of an award totaling $51,567.
