CROP Walk set for Oct. 6
The 2013 CROP Walk for World Hunger will be held 3 p.m. Oct. 6. Participants will meet at the gazebo south of the Greater Regional Medical Arts Plaza at 2:30 p.m. for registration. The walk will take place in and around McKinley Park with participants choosing a two-, four- or six-mile route.
The CROP Hunger Walk is an annual fall event sponsored by Union County Ministerial Alliance. Twenty-five percent of the money raised from the CROP Walk will remain in Union County to help the needy.
The Ministerial Alliance will distribute Union County’s portion of the walk to individuals in need of food. Thrivent Financial has pledged $600 in matching funds for the project.
