The Fence Project has been fencing yards in the Des Moines area for two years and came to Creston Sept. 8 to show Creston Animal Rescue Effort (CARE) how to do the project.

This was 15th build of season two, and number 32 overall for the Fence Project. For this build they joined CARE volunteers to build a fence at 509 N. Division St. for Strawberry, a dog.

The local group had been working with the homeowner to make things better for Strawberry, and the Fence Project’s visit to Creston took it one step further.

The build was co-sponsored by CARE and Fence Project volunteer Jim Beckwith.

With the Creston team, approximately 25 people were there to help Strawberry.

Strawberry now has approximately 2,500 square feet of chain-free freedom. She also got a new doghouse, six months worth of flea and tick medication, bathing and grooming, new collar, toys and treats.
