Creston Police reported the front window at Creston Hy-Vee was shot out over the weekend by someone using a 12-gauge shotgun. In this picture, the window is located behind the trash can, covered by cardboard.

Creston Police are actively searching for those responsible for a weekend shooting at Creston Hy-Vee. The first incident occurred about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the suspects drove to the front of the grocery store and discharged at least one 12-gauge shotgun slug.

The slug damaged pumpkins and broke the glass on a window near the store’s entrance (pictured right) causing more than $1,000 damage.

The suspect later unloaded three more shotgun slugs near the 400 block of New York Avenue — damaging two vehicles. Nobody was in the vehicles, nor was anyone injured during these shootings.

“We’ve reviewed the surveillance video provided by Hy-Vee,” said Creston Police Chief Paul Ver Meer, “and we are searching for those responsible.”
