Lloyd Winkelmann Greenfield

Lloyd Winkelmann, 96, of Greenfield died Sept. 29, 2013, at Good Samaritan Center in Fontanelle.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Dr. Keith W. Schweitzer will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery north of Adair. No visitation will be held. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Lloyd George Winkelmann, son of Laura Fredricka (Lehse) and George Christian Winkelmann, was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Grant Township in Guthrie County.

Lloyd attended country school in Grant Township.

Lloyd moved to Greenfield in 1940.

On Aug. 15, 1959, Lloyd married Gusta Irene Robinson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

They continued to live in Greenfield, where Lloyd farmed and raise purebred Angus cattle.

Gusta died March 6, 2011, and Lloyd moved to the Good Samaritan Home in March of 2011.

Lloyd was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as a trustee, and Adair County Farm Bureau.

Lloyd is survived by his sister Leila Danski of Greenfield; niece Marcia (husband Lyle) Shannon of Washington, Neb.; nephew James (wife Linda) Kintigh of Greenfield; great-nieces and -nephews and special friends Paul and Tammy Baier of Greenfield.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gusta; sisters, Mildred Powell, Elaine Kintigh and Leora Winkelmann in infancy; and brother Phillip Winkelmann in infancy.
