LENOX — On Sept. 18, Betty Marxen, executive director of Pursuit of Independence (formally Taylor Ridge Estates) in Lenox, was given the 2013 IACP Executive of the Year Award by the Iowa Association of Community Providers (IACP).

This award is given to an executive who has shown vision and leadership skills, is involved in the legislative issues and supports and embraces the core values of the association. Being recognized with an IACP Executive Award has become one of the highest accolades a provider can receive in the association.

IACP is comprised of more than 150 community-based organizations whose mission and core services are consistent with the association. All member organizations provide quality (licensed and accredited) services to children and adults with disabilities. These organizations serve more than 100,000 Iowans, employ more than 20,000 individuals and contribute nearly $1 billion to the Iowa economy. IACP members provide services in all 99 Iowa counties.
