Suzy Mikkelsen and Drew Hardisty, both of Afton, were married July 20 at Orient United Methodist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Rick and Carol Mikkelsen of Orient. The groom is the son of Randy and Shelley Hardisty of Afton.
The Rev. Jodi Rushing officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony. Reader was Kate Mikkelsen, cousin of the bride.
The bride wore a sleeveless gown made of satin with a sweetheart neckline encrusted with Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of champagne and brown daisies accented with a pendant that belonged to her late grandmother Nina Mikkelsen.
Personal attendant was Taylor Hardisty, sister of the groom.
Matron of honor was Tina Nourse of Stuart, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Mikkelsen of Orient, Kelsey Nourse of Stuart, niece of the bride, Rachael McDaniel of Orient and Kim DeJongh of Greenfield.
Bridesmaids wore various styles of chocolate brown chiffon floor-length gowns.
Best man was Nick Wilkey of Afton. Groomsmen were Ryan Nourse of Stuart, brother-in-law of the groom, Curt Mikkelsen of Orient, brother of the bride, Ryan Hardisty of Van Meter, cousin of the groom, and Luke Young of Creston.
Ushers were Korbin Nourse of Stuart and Jackson Mikkelsen of Orient, newphews of the bride, and Aaron Gladfelder of Shannon City.
Flower girls were Halle and Addie White, cousins of the groom. Ringbearer was Thomas Mikkelsen, nephew of the bride.
Guest book attendants and candlelighters were Anna Mikkelsen and Kamryn Nourse, nieces of the bride.
A reception was held after the ceremony at Three Mile Lodge near Afton. Reception hosts were Gary and Cindy Metzger of Orient.
The bride graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in elementary education. She is currently employed as a second-grade teacher at Creston Elementary School.
The groom graduated from Northwest Iowa Community College. He is currently employed as a lineman at Central Iowa Power Cooperative.
After a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple reside in Afton.
