ATLANTIC — For the second meet in a row, Jesse Vicker and Matthew Rouh led the Creston middle school cross country teams, this time at the Trojan Invite here Thursday.
Both Vicker and Rouh placed 10th. Vicker covered the 2-mile course in 14:54, while Rouh ran 13:15.
Cade Vicker and Trey Gift both finished in the top 25 for the boys, and both dipped under 14:00 for the 2-mile course. Vicker placed 18th and Gift finished 23rd.
“It was nice to get most of our team back and running tonight,” coach Clay Arnold said. “It was different running on a course that was completely unfamiliar to runners and coaches, but the competition was top notch and it was a great measuring stick for our runners before conference next week.”
The boys team finished third in the team standings with 109 points, behind Atlantic (46) and Lewis Central (66).
The Panthers compete at the Hawkeye 10 Conference Meet Thursday at Red Oak.
