Walter Gettler, 33, of Yale was charged 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for failure to appear on child support matters.

Gettler was released on $300 bond.

Dustin Kilgore, 33, 610 N. Birch St., was charged at the intersection of North Birch and West Howard streets 4 p.m. Tuesday on a Union County warrant for aggravated assault. Kilgore was also charged with possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and stolen property.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were advised of a valid arrest warrant for Kilgore. As officers were going to his residence, Kilgore was observed driving a vehicle registered to him. Officers conducted a traffic stop, and Kilgore was the only occupant. He was advised there was a valid warrant for his arrest, and then he was removed from the vehicle. Kilgore gave consent for officers to search the vehicle, and they found a small plastic bag in the center console with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. After officers found the bag, Kilgore handed them a blue glass pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana.

Kilgore was released on $3,000 bond.

Sharon Killmon, 65, of Afton was charged 6 p.m. Tuesday at Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St., with fourth-degree theft.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival, officers met with loss prevention and managers, who stated they had an employee who had been caught taking several items. This had been going on for the past couple of months. Upon interviewing Killmon, she admitted to managers she had been taking items for the past couple of months. She wrote a statement explaining what she had done and taken.

Killmon was released on $1,000 bond.

Mike Hulse, 502 S. Maple St., reported a black toolbox full of tools was taken from the garage at his residence between Oct. 1 and Tuesday.

Loss estimate is $200.
