Norman Dallas Olson, 36, 701 W. Spencer St., was charged 11:10 p.m. Friday at his residence for domestic assault.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Olson’s residence in reference to a domestic assault. Mica Luddington stated to officers she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, Olson, who tackled her and held her down by her neck. She started scratching him to get away. Luddington had red marks around her neck and on her face consistent with her statement. After officers spoke with Luddington, Olson returned to the residence. Olson was disheveled and intoxicated, with scratch marks and dried blood on his face. Officers asked Olson what happened, and he said he didn’t want to say.

Olson was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center and later released on his own recognizance.

Bill Cody, owner of Supreme Cleaners, 408 W. Montgomery St., reported a window of the business had been shot with a BB gun between 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday, shattering it.

Loss estimate was $200.

Ashley Speaks, 22, 301 W. Montgomery St., and Jessica Lynn Ruggles, 21, 422 1/2 New York Ave., were charged 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of South Jarvis Street with fifth-degree theft from Dollar General Store, 703 W. Taylor St.

According to a Creston Police report, Speaks and Ruggles took items that did not belong to them. They left the store without paying for the items.

An employee of Dollar General Store reported the items had been taken 5:57 p.m. Loss estimate was $66.

Speaks and Ruggles were transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center and released on promises to appear.
