Creston resident Steve Moeller was recognized this month by his employer, Mediacom Communications, earning top honors in the company’s national awards program that recognizes employees for exceptional service. Moeller is a 30-year cable industry veteran and earned the company’s national silver “Unsung Hero” award.

As the lead network technician in Creston and southern Iowa, Moeller is responsible for ongoing maintenance to keep Mediacom’s fiber communications network at optimal performance. He was recognized for assuming added responsibilities for network construction projects to meet new demands to build Mediacom fiber to dozens of cell phone tower sites in a multi-county area, and was cited for a exceptional work ethic that includes frequent night shifts to perform network maintenance in non-peak usage hours. The recognition distinguished Moeller as one of 29 Mediacom employees nationwide to earn silver level awards.

Ceremonies were held in Mediacom’s Des Moines office to celebrate Customer Service Week and recognize employees who consistently deliver excellent customer service.  Mediacom delivers cable television and broadband communication services to homes and businesses and employs more than 4,500 people companywide and nearly 1,600 Iowans.
