Mark Anthony Lopez, 22, 1006 N. Chestnut St., was charged with fifth-degree theft 11:15 a.m. Thursday at Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St.

According to a Creston Police report, Wal-Mart administration reported an incident of theft. They stated a male subject entered the store, removed three items from the original packaging and concealed the merchandise on his person with the intent of leaving the store without paying. The subject was stopped by administration and identified as Lopez. Value of the items was $37.88.

Lopez was being held on $300 bond.

Lonnie Hayes Nelson, 38, 701 W. Devoe St., was charged on a Union County warrant with dependent adult abuse 4:08 p.m. Friday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Nelson was providing respite care for a dependent adult Aug. 7. Nelson convinced the dependent adult to issue a check to him with an amount exceeding $1,500.

Nelson was being held on no bond.

Jeremiah Lee David Parcher, 37, 502 W. Summit St., was charged with fifth-degree theft 8 p.m. Friday at 408 S. Vine St.

According to Creston Police reports, Parcher was caught on video camera taking a bicycle that didn’t belong to him from 209 N. Birch St. approximately 2:30 a.m. Sept. 5. The bicycle was never returned to the residence and Parcher had no permission to take the bicycle.

Parcher was also charged with operation without the owner’s consent 8 p.m. Friday at 408 S. Vine St.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. Sept. 5, officers were dispatched to the corner of North Chestnut and Fremont streets for the recovery of a possible stolen motorcycle. An individual witnessed a motorcycle lose control and wreck at the intersection. As he responded to assist the motorist, he recognized the operator as Parcher. When the witness asked Parcher if he was injured, Parcher fled the scene on foot. The witness also recognized the motorcycle to be owned by Johny Stephens. Stephens was notified and he identified the motorcycle as his. Stephens also stated he did not give Parcher permission to operate or possess the motorcycle at any time.

Parcher was being held on $300 bond.

Nicholas Jon Perry, 17, 705 S. Maple St., was charged with fifth-degree theft 3 p.m. Sunday at Wal-Mart, 806 Laurel St.

Perry was turned over to his parents and referred to juvenile authorities.

Ubilibaldo Duenas Lepe, 401 W. Monroe St., reported a .22 handgun was taken from his unlocked pickup 1:12 a.m. Saturday.

Loss estimate is $200.
