SWCC sweeps Grand View JV

DES MOINES — The Southwestern Community College volleyball team had a bit of a rusty start, but worked things out in rolling to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-8 win over Grand View’s JV team here Tuesday.

Janaya Fox had a big night for the Spartans, finishing as the only Spartan player in double digits for kills with 18 and also finishing with 20 digs.

“Another good win for us,” head coach Melissa Blessington said. “We did start out slow, but we did have a few days off from play, so it was to be expected. Our girls are staying focused and we are hoping to get win 30 Wednesday night.”

The Spartans, now 29-9 for the season host Iowa Lakes here at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the final ICCAC matchup of the season.
