Sonia Quevedo, 51, of Delano, Calif., died Oct. 27, 2013, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola.

There will be no local services. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Sonia Quevedo, daughter of Adela (Valenzuela) and Louis Quevedo, was born Aug. 26, 1962, in Bakersfield, Calif.

Sonia graduated from Delano Joint Union High School in 1979.

Sonia worked a variety of different jobs, including working for Howard Hughs Industries as a secretary for several years. Later, Sonia took a position as a secretary in the migrant program at Cal State College in Bakersfield, which she held for 15 years before her health prevented her from continuing on.

Sonia is survived by her mother Adela Quevedo of Delano, Calif.; daughter Darlene Cabrales of Los Angeles, Calif.; brothers, Ruben Quevedo of Chino, Calif., Ernie Quevedo of Delano, Calif., Angel Quevedo of Avenal, Calif., and James Quevedo of Delano, Calif.; sisters, Bernice Quevedo of Bakersfield, Calif., and Shirley Quevedo of Creston; and grandsons, Rick and Alexander.

Sonia was preceded in death by her father.
