No citations were issued after an accident 3:48 p.m. Friday on Douglas Street in Afton.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Leslie Walt Jones, 49, 909 W. Jefferson St., driving a 2009 Freightliner, attempted to pull out of the Casey’s parking lot and struck a 1997 Oldsmobile, driven by Ryan Wayne Crenshaw, 34, of Afton, waiting to leave the parking lot. Crenshaw was unable to avoid the collision as other vehicles were behind him.

Damage estimate is $2,000 to Crenshaw’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 1:55 a.m. Saturday on Webster Street in Afton.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Jason Michael Logan, 35, of Pleasant Hill, driving a 2013 Chevrolet, was on the east side of Webster, and as he backed up, with the rear driver’s door open, he struck Gwendalynn Michelle Thomas, 29, of Murray, causing her to fall on the ground. Thomas was transported to Greater Regional Medical Center, where her condition is unavailable.

No damage was reported.

Justin Earl St. Pierre, 22, of Ankeny was cited for failure to prove insurance, have a valid driver’s license and maintain control after an accident 11:20 a.m. Monday at the intersection of East Irving and North Vine streets.

According to a Creston Police report, St. Pierre reported he was assaulted 12:51 p.m. Monday. He fled the assault, entered his 1999 Dodge, backed the vehicle up at an accelerated speed and lost control. The vehicle crossed the alley, struck a bush, then struck the left front quarter panel of a legally parked 1994 Ford, owned by Christopher Wright, 38, 508 N. Vine St.

Damage estimates are $1,500 to St. Pierre’s vehicle and $4,000 to Wright’s vehicle.
