Joanne Lake – Creston

Joanne L. Lake, 78, of Creston died Nov. 3, 2013, at Greater Regional Medical Center.

No public services are to be held. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Greater Regional Hospice Home. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Joanne Louise (Roberts) Lake, daughter of Rose Ella (Davis) and Glenn Ike Roberts, was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Creston.

Joanne graduated from Creston High School in 1953.

On Sept. 26, 1954, Joanne married Dale Robert Lake at the Presbyterian Church in Creston.

They lived and farmed for more than 50 years on various farms in the Orient and Zion areas. They moved into Creston in October of 2010.

Joanne was a homemaker.

Dale died May 10, 2011.

Joanne was a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Creston.

Joanne is survived by her son Timothy Lake of Sioux City, daughter Julie Lake of Creston, granddaughter Jordin Lake of Sioux City, sister Molly Claypool of Green Valley, Ariz.; brother Bob (wife Sue) Roberts of Afton; stepsisters, Ardith Wilke of Boise, Idaho, Vinita Justus of Susanville, Calif., and Trudy (husband Bill) Claypool of Cedar Rapids; and sisters-in-law, Delores Roberts of Creston and Flossie Roberts of Winterset.

In addtion to her husband, Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Agnes Roberts; parents-in-law, Leo and Marie Lake; brothers, Harold and Ed Roberts; stepbrother Ron (Nancy) Jarmon; and stepbrothers-in-law, Howard Wilke and Jesse Justus.
