Ever Alexander Ramirez Borjas, 25, of Honduras was charged with careless driving and operating without a driver’s license 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to a Lenox Police report, officers observed a 2002 Hyundai being operated in a careless manner at the intersection of Maple and Van Buren streets in Lenox. Officers stopped the vehicle. The driver did not speak English, used a Honduran government identification card to identify himself as Borjas and no record of a driver’s license could be found.

The vehicle was impounded. Borjas was transported to Taylor County Jail.

Upon further investigation, a records check showed Borjas had been previously deported for illegal entry into the United States. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials placed a detainer on Borjas, and Borjas was being held pending federal action.
