Desiree Banda, 19, of Lenox was charged with fifth-degree theft 5:50 p.m. Thursday at Fareway, 105 E. Adams St.

According to a Creston Police report, Banda entered Fareway 5:40 p.m. and concealed a bottle of vodka in her purse. She was detained by a Fareway employee, the vodka was removed from her purse and officers were called. The vodka was valued at $32.04.

Banda was released on promise to appear.

Tena Jo Parkhurst, 404 W. Townline St., reported her 2006 Toyota Tacoma truck was taken after 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1 from the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Loss estimate is $12,000.
