Three Panthers compete at Senior All-Star Meet

ANKENY — Three members of the Creston boys state qualifying cross country team competed for the Southwest team here Saturday at the IATC Senior All-Star Meet on the DMACC campus.

The Southwest team finished fourth with 111 points, behind Northeast (35), Northwest (40) and Southeast (59).

Competing for the Southwest team were Garret Taylor, Kruz Adamson and Zack Peppmeier.

Taylor finished 45th overall with his time of 18:31 for the 5K course, finishing as the fourth scoring member of the Southwest team. Adamson finished 59th overall in 19:20 as the seventh member of the Southwest team.

Peppmeier placed 67th overall with a time of 20:06, finishing ninth for the Southwest team.

Michael Melchert of Monticello was the individual winner in 16:11.

The Southwest team did not have enough girls to record a team score. Holly McKinney of Interstate 35 competed for the Southwest team, finishing 13th overall in 20:52.
