Charlotte Cunning Mount Ayr

Charlotte Cunning, 88, of Mount Ayr died Nov. 16, 2013, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Chris Conklin will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday with family present 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later. Online condolences may be left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com.

Charlotte Cunning, daughter of Minnie (Minnick) and Douglas A. Rice, was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Mount Ayr.

Charlotte graduated from high school.

On March 2, 1947, Charlotte married Dwight Cunning in Lenox.

Dwight and Charlotte settled on a farm south of Mount Ayr.

Charlotte was a farm wife and homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Church.

Charlotte is survived by her daughter Sherri (Doug) Hymbaugh of Mount Ayr; grandchildren, Jessica (Joe) Snethen of Webster City and Mark and David Hymbaugh, both of Kihei, Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Rori, Vince and Ellie Snethen; sisters, Betty Brooks of Washington state and Jorene (Bill) Blevins of Springfield, Mo.; and sister-in-law Peggy Rice of Lenox.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dwight Oct. 9, 2013; son Bradford Mark Cunning; siblings, Opal (Bill) Goodale, Lewis “Mike” Rice and Paul (Sadie) Rice; and in-laws, Max Brooks, Thelma (Ed) Richey, Burl (Irene) Cunning, Dortha (Ed) Grossman, Cecile (Bill) Barron and Duane (Christine) Cunning.
