June Sprague Creston

June Sprague, 75, of Creston died Nov. 15, 2013, at her home in Creston.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. Bruce Chubick will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Grant Cemetery. Open visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Venita June (Hartman) Sprague, daughter of Gladys (Bauman) and Alfred Hartman, was born May 17, 1938, in Creston.

June was educated in Creston Schools.

On May 19, 1956, June married Carroll Jay Sprague in Prescott.

She lived and worked most of her life in the Creston area. June was a homemaker. June also worked at Casey’s kitchen, making donuts.

June was a former member of Eagles Lodge of Creston and Southside Boosters. She had also played in the Southside Boosters Kitchen Band.

June is survived by her sons, Terry Sprague (significant other Jaye), Rod Sprague and Chad (wife Jeanne) Sprague, all of Creston; daughter Pam (husband Mark) Loudon of Creston; grandchildren, Nick, T’Lee and Elizabeth Sprague, Travis and Chris Loudon, Jeremy Liford, Jarryn and Macie Sprague and Jakob McIntosh; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Hayden, Rachel and Ryder; and sister-in-law Linda Hartman of Omaha, Neb.

June was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1981, brother Dean Hartman in 1988 and sister Betty (husband Art) Chubick in 2011.
