MILLINGTON, Tenn. — Petty Officer 2nd Class Thomas N. Wray of Bedford, a 2007 graduate of Bedford High School, has been in the Navy for five years and is currently serving aboard USS Leyte Gulf as a hull maintenance technician responsible for doing the metal work necessary to keep all types of shipboard structures and surfaces in good condition.

USS Leyte Gulf (CG-55) is a Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser named after the World War II Battle of Leyte Gulf. USS Leyte Gulf is homeported in Norfolk, Va., and is currently deployed.
