MURRAY — The Murray girls basketball team sailed into the holiday break with a 7-0 record after defeating Melcher-Dallas 52-23 here on Friday.

Senior Kate Patton recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 steals in the win, also dishing out seven assists. Madison Gonseth chipped in 12 points with three blocked shots.

Deena Snyder scored six points with five rebounds and four steals, while Chellsea Jones added six points. Megan Oswald scored four points and finished with a team-high nine rebounds.

McKenzie McIntosh also scored four points and grabbed five rebounds for the fifth-ranked Lady Mustangs.

Murray returns to action Jan. 7 at Ankeny Christian Academy.
