Brian Scadden Creston

Brian Scadden, 50, of Creston, died Dec. 23, 2013, at Greater Regional Medical Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Paul Vandevender will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Open visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to be established in his name. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Brian Ray Scadden, son of Nadine Kay (Jensen) and Melvin Ray Scadden, was born Sept. 26, 1963, in Creston.

Brian graduated from Creston High School in 1982 and lived all of his life in Creston.

On August 11, 1990, Brian married Regina Sue (Wasson) in Creston. They later divorced.

Brian worked at Swine Graphics of Osceola and also Hulett and Sons Auto Salvage in Creston as a mechanic.

On Aug. 31, 2011, Brian married Catherine Ann (Snell) Rowland in Creston.

Brian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Creston and Sons of the American Legion.

Brian is survived by his wife Cathy Scadden of Creston; parents, Melvin and Nadine Scadden of Creston; sons, Rob (wife Jessica) Branan of Corning and Brad (wife Sonya) Scadden of Creston; stepchildren, Zach Rowland of Greenfield and Shannon Rowland of Winterset; grandmother Bertha Jensen of Creston; grandchildren, Ethan, Lucas, Kellan, Brayson and Hannah; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.

Brian was preceded in death by his sister Melissa Scadden, grandfather Clyde S. Jensen; and paternal grandparents, Joe and Eugenia Scadden.
