Duane Lee Brown, 61, of Mustang, Okla., died Jan. 1, 2014, at his home.

Mass was 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, Okla. An additional service was held 1 p.m. Saturday at Mustang United Methodist Church in Mustang, Okla. Interment was in Red Hill Cemetery in Mustang, Okla. McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.

Duane Lee Brown, son of Lorraine M. (Hess) and Everett H. Brown, was born June 5, 1952, in Creston.

Duane grew up in Afton. He was a 1970 graduate of East Union High School and served in the Iowa National Guard.

Duane started his career with the FAA in 1975 working in Des Moines and transferred to Oklahoma City in 1986. He retired in 2007 as an instructor after more than 32 years of service.

Duane was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon, Okla.

Duane is survived by his wife Rhonda of Mustang, Okla.; daughter Linda Brown of El Reno, Okla.; son Dean (wife Summer) Brown of Oklahoma City; granddaughters, Autumn and Emma Brown; and mother Lorraine Brown and brother Keith (wife Sheila) Brown, all of Afton.

Duane was preceded in death by his father and sister Peggy.
