Salem Lutheran Church to host Alpha Course beginning Sunday

Published: Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 10:13 a.m. CST

Salem Lutheran Church, 602 W. Townline St., will host the Alpha Course beginning 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The course will run through March 16 (except for Super Bowl Sunday).

The Alpha Course is a practical introduction to the Christian faith that gives guests an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. Alpha is designed to be fun, relaxed and nonpressured. At Alpha, participants listen, learn, discuss and discover. No question is off limits.

There are three main elements to the Alpha Course. Each session begins with a meal, followed by a short talk looking at different aspects of the Christian faith, and a time for discussion in a friendly small group.

Alpha is for everyone, especially those:

• Who have given up on church

• Wanting to investigate Christianity

• Who are new to Christian faith

• Who want to grow in understanding and faith

There is no charge for the course itself. Course manuals that follow the talks are only $5. Child care is available.

To register, call the Rev. Ben McIntire at 641-782-2920.
