Afton Police

Heather Renae Shimer, 34, of Afton, was charged with fourth-degree theft 10 a.m. Tuesday at First National Bank, Afton Branch, 100 E. Railroad St., Afton.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Shimer went to First National Bank, Afton Branch and withdrew money from the business account of Can Man Redemption of Afton. The withdrawal was not authorized by the owners of the business.

Loss estimate is between $300 and $500.

Shimer was released on $1,000 bond.
