Ellen Lang, 75, of Beatrice, Neb., died Jan. 10, 2014, at her home.

A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today, Jan. 13, at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel in Beatrice, Neb. The Rev. Cale Lang will officiate. Visitation with family present will be 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Beatrice, Neb. Local visitation with family present will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St., Creston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Pearson Family Funeral Service chapel in Creston. The Rev. Cale Lang will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Ellen Ruth Lang, daughter of Max and Sylvia Johns, was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Creston.

Ellen graduated from Creston High School.

On Dec. 27, 1955, Ellen married Charles Lang in West Des Moines.

Ellen was co-owner of Johns Machine and Welding in Creston for 14 years, worked as production manager at the Creston News Advertiser for 33 years, and was an associate at the Wal-Mart in Beatrice, Neb., for four years.

Ellen was a member of the First Christian Church in Creston.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Bruce (wife Dawn) Lang of Beatrice, Neb., Danny Lang of Creston and Doug (wife Scarlett) Lang of Lake Forest, Calif.; daughters, Linnea Julian of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Martha Lang and Eric Shull of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Chris (wife Sarah) Lang of Costa Mesa, Calif., Cale (wife Kim) Lang of Sabetha, Kan., Taylor Lang of Omaha, Neb., Neil (wife, Jodi) Lang of West Des Moines, Alisha Lang of Olathe, Kan., Nick Lang of Olathe, Kan., Maxwell, Jacob and Samantha Lang of Lake Forest, Calif., and Makenna, Mason and Macoy Julian of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; great-grandsons, Micah, Jackson and Beckett Lang, all of Sabetha, Kan.; ex-husband Charles Lang of Creston, brother David (wife Sharon) Johns of Creston; nephews, Charles (wife Debbie) White of Creston, Frank White of Long Beach, Calif., and Sterling (wife Lisa) Johns of Creston; and nieces, Linda White, Sue (husband John) Miller and Shelley Hanson, all of Creston. 

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Patricia Johns; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Glen White; and nephew Glen Lee White.
