Jon Early, 57, of Creston died Jan. 8, 2014, at Unity Point Health in Rock Island, Ill., after a long illness.

Celebration of life services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St. The Rev. Daniel Moore, Cromwell Congregational Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Cromwell. Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in Jon’s name to be determined.  Online condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

Jon Frank Early, son of Elma Maysal (Hartsook) and William Forrest Early, was born Aug. 17, 1956, in Creston.

Jon lived his entire life in Union County.

Jon attended school in Cromwell from kindergarten through fifth grade, then attended Creston Public School. Jon graduated from Creston High School in 1974 and attended Southwestern Community College.

Jon was a farmer.

Jon was a member of Cromwell Congregational Church.

Jon is survived by his twin sister Janis Holsman of Ames; aunts and uncles, Phyllis and Max Parrott of Omaha, Neb., Wayne and Joan Hartsook of Creston and Harriett Hartsook of Des Moines; and numerous cousins and friends.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Elma in 2001 and Bill in 2007; grandparents, Ralph and Elsie Hartsook and Bessie and Frank Early; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
