Betty Marxen, 61, of Lenox was cited for failure to maintain control after an accident approximately 9 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Ohio Street in Lenox.

According to a Lenox Police report, Marxen, driving a 2000 Lincoln on East Ohio, struck a legally parked 1999 Ford owned by Nick Custer of Lenox. Officers observed the accident and investigated it. Marxen said her windshield was frosted over and she took her eyes off the road while adjusting the defrost controls. The impact caused the air bags to deploy.

Damage estimates are $6,000 to Marxen’s vehicle and $2,000 to Custer’s vehicle.

Monica Ann Mussman, 16, 622 Wyoming Ave., was cited for failure to obey a stop sign after an accident 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of North Spruce and West Prairie streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Mussman, driving a 1995 Pontiac south on North Spruce, ran a stop sign and drove into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet driven east on West Prairie by Jodi Lee Steffen, 45, 207 N. Walnut St., causing Steffen to collide with the right side of Mussman’s vehicle.

Damage estimates are $2,000 to Mussman’s vehicle and $1,000 to Steffen’s vehicle.
