Daniel Kroese, 19, of Lenox was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian after an accident 3:40 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Walnut and Michigan streets in Lenox.

According to a Lenox Police report, Kroese, driving a 1988 Oldsmobile east on Michigan, struck a five-year-old boy walking north across Michigan. The victim had been dropped off by a school bus, and Kroese said he thought the victim was waiting for traffic so he proceeded east.

The victim was transported by Lenox Ambulance to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

No damage was done to Kroese’s vehicle.
