SWCC games

Southwestern women topped Iowa Lakes 52-51 Saturday in the battle for the eighth and final playoff position in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division II race.

The win pushes SWCC to 2-7 in the league, breaking a tie with Iowa Lakes, which now falls to 1-8, and improves Southwestern to 5-16 overall. Iowa Lakes falls to 4-19.

No. 18-ranked Iowa Lakes men raced to a 28-10 lead through the first half in defeating the Southwestern men, 64-40. Complete coverage of the two SWCC games will appear in Tuesday’s News Advertiser.
