Dolores ‘Johnnie’ Harrold

Dolores “Johnnie” Harrold, 84, of Pocahontas died Feb. 1, 2014, at Pocahontas Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas. The Rev. Paul Bormann will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Online condolences may be left at www.PowersFH.net

Dolores June Johnson, daughter of Stella (Baldridge) and Ranhart Johnson, was born June 24, 1929, near Pocahontas.

Johnnie graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1947.

On July 10, 1950, Johnnie married Daniel Harrold at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pocahontas, where they raised their family.

In 1969, Johnnie began working at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics. She worked as a machinist for more than 20 years before retiring.

Daniel died in 1983, and Johnnie continued to make her home in Pocahontas.

Johnnie was a member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies Society and Pocahontas Golf Club.

Johnnie is survived by her children, Sydney Hudek of Creston, Daniel “Kevin” (Denise) Harrold of Machesney Park, Ill., Mark Harrold of Buda, Texas, and Kristie (Ron) Lampe of Havelock; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Bob Hudek; and sisters, Velma Larson and Norma Byerly.
