James Hoepker

James Hoepker, 63, died Feb. 2, 2014.

Services will be held noon Friday, Feb. 7, at Hamilton’s, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

James Robert Hoepker, son of Evelyn (Eivins) and Elton Hoepker, was born March 7, 1950, in Creston.

Jim grew up in rural Orient and went to Orient-Macksburg High School. He later graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1973.

Jim worked for many years at Massey Ferguson and Bridgestone/Firestone. He retired in April 2010, after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Jim is survived by his wife Cindy; daughters, Jessie and Shannon (Brad) Terry; siblings, Keith (Jane White), Dale and Gary Hoepker, Carolyn (Jim) Collins and Joan (Doug) Brunell; and two grandchildren.
