James Kinkade, 63, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Creston, died Feb. 3, 2014.
Services will be Saturday, Feb. 8, at Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, Okla. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
James William Kinkade, son of Harry and Breta Kinkade, was born Sept. 2, 1950, in Creston.
James graduated from Creston High School in 1969 and attended Southwestern Community College.
He managed the Creston Strand Theatre while in high school, worked on the construction crew for Southwestern Community College and Union County Road/Bridge Crew and served as Sergeant in the Iowa Army National Guard and a Union County Deputy Sheriff in Iowa before moving to Tulsa, Okla., in the late 1970s.
James worked several jobs in Tulsa and was at one time a manager for Wendy’s. He was also a district route manager for Coca-Cola in the 1980s, when he incurred a debilitating injury followed by multiple surgeries, which eventually left him disabled.
James had two previous marriages.
On July 12, 2005, James married Pam Hayes in Eureka Springs, Ark.
James is survived by his wife Pam Kinkade of Tulsa, Okla., and their shared children and grandchildren, Jason Kinkade and Chrystal Martinez (Angel, Dalton, Jeremy, Gage, Cynthia, Jasmine, Gabby, Nathaniel), Amy Kinkade and Derrick Reed (Kaitlin, Madison, Trey), Taylor Kinkade, Matt and Jennifer Hayes (Matthew, Luke, Angel), Daniel Hayes and Jennifer Gibson (Rayne, Alex, Audrey, Lexi); brothers and sisters and spouses, Mike and Vivian Kinkade of Ankeny, Mark and Judy Kinkade of Creston, Cynthia and Steve Blakely of Keller, Texas, Susie and Dave McCay of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Tim Kinkade and friend Kim of Pella; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents and son Jeff Kinkade.
