Dakota Eugene Brown, 20, 607 W. Howard St., was charged on a Union County warrant 7:10 p.m. Jan. 27 for possession with intent to manufacture a schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, through a narcotics investigation, state narcotics agents and Creston Police officers had probable cause to believe Brown was conspiring with others to manufacture methamphetamine. Pseudoephedrine purchase records indicate Brown cooperated with others to obtain precursors used to manufacture methamphetamine Sept. 18, 2013. Other evidence indicates Brown did conspire to manufacture methamphetamine with others at two addresses in Thayer and Creston. Witness statements and evidence taken from the residences indicate Brown possessed pseudoephedrine and conspired with others to possess pseudephedrine, and used the pseudoephedrine to produce methamphetamine.

Brown was released from Union County Jail on $5,000 bond.
