No citations were issued after an accident 11:19 a.m. Wednesday on North Cherry Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Ian Lowell Smith, 31, 906 W. Mills St., driving a 2000 Mitsubishi, backed out of a private driveway onto North Cherry and struck the rear passenger side of a 2007 Dodge driven by Kevin Wayne Brownlee, 46, 311 N. Oak St., while it was stopped at a stop sign facing north at the intersection of North Cherry and West Townline streets.

Damage estimates are $5,000 to Smith’s vehicle and $1,000 to Brownlee’s vehicle.

Danny Alan Fry, 26, 304 N. Cherry St., was cited for operating a motor vehicle without registration after an accident 4:41 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Spruce and West Montgomery streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Laura Cathryn Scholl, 68, of Prescott, driving a 2012 Ford east on West Montgomery, saw a 1997 Dodge driven south on North Spruce by Fry, braked, was unable to stop in time because of the snow on the road and struck the passenger side of Fry’s vehicle. Fry tried to clear the intersection, but was unable to before Scholl reached it.

Damage estimates are $1,500 to Fry’s vehicle and $2,500 to Scholl’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 4:56 p.m. Wednesday on Spillway Road.

According to a Creston Police report, Jessica Marie Drey, 16, of Winterset, driving a 2002 Pontiac north on Spillway, lost control of the vehicle, went off the east side of the road and onto McKinley Lake. The lake was iced over and the vehicle did not go through. Concrete blocks surrounding the lake’s shoreline damaged the front passenger side and rear driver side of the vehicle.

Damage estimate is $4,000 to Drey’s vehicle.
