Kelly Monaghan Creston

Kelly Monaghan, 57, of Creston died Feb. 15, 2014, at Greater Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Skip Rushing will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in his name to be decided later. Online condolences may be left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com.

Kelly Monaghan, son of Ruth Ann (Ward) and Robert Monaghan, was born April 7, 1956, in Mount Ayr.

Kelly graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1974. 

In 1981, Kelly married Jackie Cavender Reimer, and they later divorced.

Kelly had worked at Wellman Dynamics and was presently employed at Bunn-O-Matic in Creston since June of 1992.

Kelly was a member of Eagles Club in Creston. 

Kelly is survived by his brother Mike Monaghan of Des Moines, sister Katie (Ronch) Still of Mount Ayr, sister-in-law Charlene Lee; nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. 

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Casey and Patrick Monaghan.
