No citations were issued after an accident 10:50 a.m. Feb. 18 on Cherry Street Road.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Shaeina Laitaija Raeche Allison, 25, of Ames, driving a 1998 Chevrolet north on Cherry Street Road, blacked out because of a medical condition, and a witness said Allison’s vehicle went onto the shoulder of the road, crossed into the opposite lane and went into the west ditch, where it struck a barbwire fence and several posts, owned by Rich Downing, 1576 140th St., before coming to rest on the fence.

Damage estimates are $3,600 to Allison’s vehicle and $300 to the fence and post.

No citations were issued after an accident 4:13 p.m. Monday on South Vine Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Heather Dawn McCaulley, 42, 404 S. Vine St., driving a 2000 Cadillac, backed out of her driveway onto South Vine and struck a 1995 Chevrolet parked on the east side of South Vine.

Nickolas Jay Wilkinson, 29, of Des Moines was reaching into the Chevrolet when it was struck, causing the door to shut on Wilkinson’s arm, possibly causing injury. Wilkinson was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Damage estimates are $1,000 to McCaulley’s vehicle and $600 to the parked Chevrolet.
