Wesley Carlson, 33, of Creston died Feb. 19, 2014, at his home.

Private memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. A private family visitation was held Sunday. Memorials may be directed to the family. 

Wesley Daniel Carlson, son of Patricia Diane (Kells) and Richard Daniel Carlson, was born June 11, 1980, in Saint Charles, Ill.

Wesley graduated from Marengo High School.

On Aug. 2, 2008, Wesley married to Sandra “Nicki” Gibson in Moline, Ill.

While in Moline, he worked for Sears as a salesman in the tool department.

In October 2009, they moved to Creston where Wesley worked for Wellman’s as lead lay out technician and was also a union representative.

Wesley is survived by his wife Sandra “Nicki” Carlson of Creston; sons, Wesley Daniel Carlson Jr. of Wonderlake, Ill., and Corbin Richard Carlson of Creston; parents, Rich (Tracy) Carlson of Baldwin, Wis., and Patricia (Randy) Edwards of Peoria, Ill; brothers, Spencer and Dustin Carlson, both of Duluth, Minn.; sisters, Melissa Carlson of Union, Ill., and Laurel and Emma Carlson, both of Baldwin, Wis.; paternal grandmother Annette Carlson; maternal grandparents, Bart (Sylvia) Regelbrugge of New Mexico; and step-grandparents, Roger (Sandy) Gehrke of Hudson, Wis.

Wesley was preceded in death by his grandfather Willard LeRoy Carlson, nephew Gabriel Freise and cousin Michelle Carlson.
