No citations were issued after an accident 8:26 a.m. Tuesday on West Prairie Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Kenneth Carl Boswell, 65, of Albia, driving a 1997 GMC, backed up off the curb of the 1700 block of West Prairie, failed to yield and struck the right rear quarter panel of a legally parked 2010 Saturn.

Damage estimates are $500 to Boswell’s vehicle and $1,100 to the parked GMC.

No citations were issued after an accident 2:40 p.m. Tuesday in Arispe.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Kenneth Ormond Nurnberg, 90, of Arispe, driving a 1994 Dodge north on Division Street, lost consciousness because of illness and struck a utility pole owned by Alliant Energy and a mailbox owned by Randy Adams of Arispe.

Damage estimates are $5,000 to Nurnberg’s vehicle, $500 to the pole and $50 to the mailbox.
