Louise Froit, 83, formerly of Diagonal, died April 1, 2014, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

A memorial service was held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in Diagonal. The. Rev Terry Roberts officiated. Louise donated her body to the Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical School. A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later. Helen Louise (Bata) Froit, daughter of Fairy Helen (Jones) and Joseph Frank Bata, was born May 30, 1930, north of Diagonal.

Louise graduated from Diagonal High School.

Louise worked in food service and area factories most of her life.

Louise is survived by her children, Bill (Connie) Doudy of Mount Ayr, Nancy (Rick) Keller of Grand River, Kellene Ritter of Creston and Montelle Froit of Shannon City; sister Donna McDonald of Diagonal, eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, son Joe Bata, sister Reva Shiflett and nephew Steven Shiflett.
