Accident

No citations were issued after an accident 1:07 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 34.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Constance Leigh Vinzant, 28, of Bedford, driving a 2002 Chevrolet south on Highway 34, swerved when a deer ran into the path of the vehicle, crossed the center line, entered a ditch on the opposite side of the road, and struck a set of gates and a fence owned by Tom Weishaar, 1408 Highway 34, before the vehicle came to rest on its top.

Damage estimate is $2,500 to Vinzant’s vehicle and $500 to Weishaar’s fence and gates.
