MISSOURI VALLEY — The Class 1A 12th-ranked Valley girls are off to a 2-0 start after blanking AHST (Avoca) 8-0 Monday followed by a 4-1 victory Tuesday at Missouri Valley.

Nodaway Valley/West Central Valley/Adair-Casey has outshot its two opponents 64-6. Tuesday’s win was the 100th career victory for coaches Michael Krawczyk and Craig Pauley.

Tuesday’s match ended with 16 minutes remaining after a 50-minute delay due to a collision on the field between the Valley keeper and a Missouri Valley forward, as medical personnel attended to the players.

Hailey Gross scored two goals for Valley Tuesday, with others by Allie Doud and Emily O’Brien. Gross had three goals Monday and Doud knocked in two.
