ADEL — Sophomore Madison Hance shot a 46 as runner-up medalist to lead Creston/O-M to a strong second-place finish in triangular action Friday at River Valley Golf Course.

The Panthers shot 218 to finish seven strokes behind ADM’s winning score of 211. Gilbert was third at 260.

Sarah Waigand’s 52 was Creston/O-M’s second-best score. Medalist Lexi Owen of ADM shot 45.

“We had all five girls golfing Friday evening and competed very well,” said Creston assistant coach Kristopher “Kritter” Hayes. “River Valley is a tough course and the girls handled it with poise and really enjoyed themselves. It was nice having all of them together, which seldom happens because of our dual sport athletes. They battled out there against a traditionally tough ADM squad. Madison Hance hit great shots on all nine hole. She just struggled to sink a few putts at the end.”

The Creston/O-M girls and boys both travel to Winterset Tuesday along with the host Huskies and Clarke of Osceola.
