Art Council seeks location for art center

From Brian Zachary

Secretary for Creston:Arts

Creston:Arts is an art council for the Creston area. We operate Creston’s only public art gallery and provide art programming for children and adults in this community. We have a kids’ art camp and several adult and family workshops planned for this summer.

Our art camp will be held during the last three weeks of June (9th-27th) at the Creston High School art room. That being said, we still do not have a location for our art center. Primarily, we need a place to store materials for our various art activities, but we would also like a place where we can hold workshops.

Ideally the space would be Uptown (but could really be anywhere), have an exterior door, electricity, sink and bathroom. We are a 501c3 non-profit, and therefore anyone that donates space to us can receive a tax write-off for the amount of the uncharged rent.

This donation of rent would also count as an in-kind match for any grants that we would write for equipment. A double give! Do you have an empty space and want to encourage the arts in Creston? Please call us at 641-247-1663 to discuss the possibilities. Thank you.
