From Lyndon Davenport
The formal part of 40 Days for Life has ended, but the pro-life effort goes on. We informed the community that abortions are still performed here in Creston through telemed (web cam) technology. Through our on-site prayer vigils, in all kinds of weather, we showed our dedication to our purpose to “pray to end abortion.” We were also able to get literature into the hands of some people describing the details and dangers of webcam abortions.
While we did encounter, during the first few days, a certain amount of apathy and indifference towards the issue of abortion, we were encouraged to see God use many opportunities to stir up the fire in many pro-life Christians.
Another result of our praying to end abortion is that we realized that there is a need for a pregnancy resource center (PRC) here, such as the Life Care Clinic in Stuart. There are PRCs in many communities to meet the needs of women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy. The emphasis is on life and not death. Pregnancy tests, abortion alternatives, parenting education and material needs are some of the services provided. We are working on making this a reality.
It’s good that we have observed 40 Days for Life.
