Loren Myers, 79, of Winterset died May 3, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Macksburg United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, rural Macksburg. A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with family present 4 to 7 p.m. at Ochiltree Funeral Service, 1823 N. John Wayne Dr., Winterset. Loren D. Myers, son of Clara (Reis) and Arthur Myers, was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Peru.
Loren was a graduate of Winterset High School and served in the United States Army.
His first wife, Frances died in 1978, and he later married Ardis Comer on Nov. 23, 1979, at Macksburg United Methodist Church.
Loren was an auctioneer and farmer most of his life. He was a supervisor for Madison County and a member of Macksburg United Methodist Church.
Loren is survived by his wife Ardis Myers of Winterset; son Steven (Catherine) Myers of Creston; daughter Diane (Jim) Smith of Afton; stepdaughters, Terri Lynn (Jim) Wetzel of Winterset, Christine (Lawrence) Meyer of Silverton, Ore., Julie Allen of St. Charles and Karen (Brian) Rudolf of Winterset; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, Loren was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Kenneth and Everett Myers; sister Lucille Putney; and a son-in-law Terry Allen.
