CEDAR RAPIDS — Kirkwood Community College honored 136 top-performing students in its annual Outstanding Student Recognition program. The April 18 event was an opportunity to salute the students for their superior achievements in the past year. Christina Smith of Prescott was an award recipient.

Award recipients were credited by faculty for cooperation, campus citizenship and leadership, in addition to their top grades in classes. The 136 honorees represented the top echelon of Kirkwood students from more than 20,000 registered in fall and spring.

AIB College of Business

DES MOINES — Eric Stough of Creston has been recognized as an Outstanding Business Administration Student by the faculty at AIB College of Business.

To receive the honor, Stough – who is earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – and the other honorees were required to attain a grade point average of 3.75 or higher in the previous term. The students’ accomplishments were celebrated at a reception on campus attended by AIB faculty, staff and students.

At the reception, Kali O’Brien, sports services and volunteer coordinator at Des Moines Area Sports Commission, spoke about building her business career in a sports-related field.
