The Creston/Orient-Macksburg golf teams continued rolling along in their matches against Red Oak on Monday.

The boys team posted a 160-194 victory over the Tigers at Red Oak Country Club, while the Creston JV team finished with a better team score than Red Oak’s varsity, shooting 184.

Senior Hunter Sickels shot a 1-over par 37 to win medalist honors, while junior teammate Sam Hartsock finished as runner-up with his round of 2-over par 38.

Carson Whittington and Coleton Hoepker rounded out the team scoring for the Panthers with their rounds of 42 and 43, respectively.

“Hunter and Sam led the way for our team tonight,” Creston/O-M assistant coach Kristopher “Kritter” Hayes said. “They were paired together and fed off of each other’s consistent play. It was a good win for us on the road and gives us some momentum moving forward.”

The Panther boys return to action tonight at the Trojan Invitational at Nishna Hills in Atlantic.

Girls

The Panther girls did not have enough golfers to record a team score, but claimed the medalist spot, while sharing runner-up honors.

Hannah Hagle won medalist honors for the first time in her career, shooting a round of 53 here at Crestmoor Golf Club.

Sophomore Camryn Somers shared runner-up honors with Red Oak’s Ellen Fellers, as both shot rounds of 56.

The Creston/O-M girls return to action today at Atlantic Golf and Country Club.
